Bunny Update 1.11

Hello, Ozimals friends!

Welcome to Bunny Update 1.11! Please read these notes carefully before you begin updating!

Update 1.11 is a non-mandatory update. What this means is that your bunnies will continue to eat if not updated, though each food you have rezzed out will message you once a day to remind you to update. If you are not able to be inworld and updating until later, your bunnies will not go hungry. Until your bunnies are updated, however, you will not be able to use the new features, nor will your bunnies be able to breed with 1.11 bunnies.

*Ridiculous amounts of new genetics
*Retired genetics
*New Bunnybury prize bunny
*Everlasting Timepiece / Ancient Everlasting Timepiece
*2012 Oz Bunny Games

*** 1: New genetics! A script memory problem has been limiting what we could safely add to the bunnies for some time now, but it has finally been fixed. Thus, this update adds more new traits than we've ever added to the bunnies at one go. They are very different than anything you've seen from the bunnies up to this point, and we're excited to see them out in the community's bunny warrens! As always, new bunny genetics cannot be magically injected into existing bunnies; the only bunnies who have the chance of carrying them when the update is released are those born from new starter nests. These will be available from the Ozimals main store, the Ozimals Satellite Store, and on Marketplace when the update is released.

*** 2: Retirement! For both our newer people and those who've been with us a long time, it is important to understand what "retirement" means for bunny traits. If a trait is retired, it is no longer available from starter nests (nests bought from Ozimals directly). Bunnies that already exist on the grid who have these traits will still have them, and will still be able to pass them to their offspring. This means that if you want to add the traits to your warren of bunnies, you will need to buy from or trade with another bunny owner to get them.

Previously, we have retired the following traits:
---Furs: Dutch Black, Havana Black, Mini Rex Chocolate, English Spot Lilac, Holland Lop White, Mini Rex Lynx, Harlequin Fawn Magpie, Silver Marten Red, and Harlequin Black Magpie.
---Eyes: Light Gray, Dark Hazel, Peridot, Amethyst, and Honey.

This list does not include traits that were "automatically retired", or never available from standard starter nests, such as traits exclusive to Bunnybury Prize bunnies or Limited Edition holiday packs.

Those traits include:
---Furs: Argent Brun d'Argent and Chocolate Chinchilla
---Eyes: Sparrow, Truffle, Frost, Polychrome, Gaia, Faerie, Autumn, Eclipse, and Aster.
---Shades: Vitreous and Petunia.

With the addition of so many new traits in 1.11, as of this update, the following are newly retired:
---Furs: Harlequin Black & Orange, Dutch Tortoiseshell, Silver Marten Black, Blanc de Hotot, Silver Fox Black, Argent Creme d'Argent, Tan Black, Rhinelander Opal, Rhinelander Calico, and Mini Rex Chinchilla.
---Eyes: Sapphire, Garnet, Sunrise, Turquoise, and Diamond.

*** 3. New Bunnybury Prize bunny! With this update, we are retiring the current Bunnybury Prize bunny--the "Bunnybury Exclusive Rare Bunny Nest"--and replacing it with a new one. The nest will be available from the vendor once the update is released, and will be random gender, random shade, random ears, with new and exclusive fur and eyes. These new traits will be breedable, and can thus be passed to that bunny's offspring.

Please note that the "Nest with Increased Chance of Recessives" in the Bunnybury vendor will *NOT* be switched to version 1.11, with the new traits, until Monday, May 7th. This means that if you buy one of these nests in the two weeks between the update and May 7th, it will still have an increased chance of showing recessive traits, but they will be the traits current in 1.10, NOT the new additions, which will NOT be present in the nest. The same is true for the Bunnybury prize "Random Bunny Nest": it will not be changed to 1.11 until Monday, May 7th. For information about Bunnybury prizes, as well as the locations of the Bunnybury vendors, please see the Ozimals wiki.

*** 4. As of this update, you may purchase an Everlasting Timepiece. This item will, when applied to one 1.11 bunny, make that bunny Everlasting. What this means is that the bunny will no longer need food, and cannot hibernate. Bunnies that have the Everlasting Timepiece applied will lose any MP setting they have had. The bunny will not boost stats any longer. An Everlasting bunny cannot breed, so any generations remaining will disappear. The bunny will continue to age, and you may change its name or apply Grow/Shrink potions. To use it, rez it on the bunny, and check that the menu is offering to apply it to the correct bunny before you hit "Yes".
To use the Everlasting Timepiece, the bunny must be at least 30 days old, and the effects of a Timepiece cannot be reversed. Ozimals will of course still support these bunnies--if SL eats your Everlasting bunny, you can file a ticket, just the same as with any other bunny, and we will do our best to return the bunny to you.
Everlasting Timepieces are available singly on the Marketplace or inworld at the Ozimals main store and the Ozimals satellite store. Discounted bulk packs of five or ten are available at the inworld stores. All Everlasting Timepieces are no-copy/no-trans/no-mod items, and cannot be re-delivered if lost.

Besides the standard Everlasting Timepiece, there is a special item available only until May 23rd, the Ancient Everlasting Timepiece. This item can only be used on bunnies who are at least 550 days old, but is half the price of the standard Timepiece. For more information about the Ancient Everlasting Timepiece, and where to get it, please see the blog post about it.

*** 5. Version 1.11 also begins our path towards the biggest event of the bunnies' year, the 2012 Oz Bunny Games. Much more information about the Games is forthcoming, such as how to choose a team to support, the many ways you can support them, and how every member of the team which wins the Games in July can be awarded a special elite bunny, unique to this occasion. Please see the Community Meeting Notes from April 18th for more information, and Chapter I of "Hazel and the Bunny Games in Oz"  for an introduction to the world of the Games.
Chapter II will be on the forums, shortly, too, and is also included as a notecard in the 1.11 Update box.

****************IMPORTANT NOTES****************
Please check that you restore bonds, reset home near food and reprice if you had bunnies set for sale.

2.  If your update totem gets stuck on a bunny (after 5 minutes, it hasn't completed)  please TAKE THE CRATE into your inventory and delete the white bunny underneath.  Copy the crate prim description number.  File a support ticket and include that crate number for a replacement bunny.  Do not delete the crate until you receive your replacement bunny.

Once you pick up the crate and delete the white bunny, your update totem should move on to the next bunny in range.

If you need a location to update your bunnies, Ozimals Orientation islands have a sandbox type update area where you can rez your bunnies in a quiet area and chat with other bunny peeps while you do it! (Updating only here, please don't build!)  SLURLs below:

Ozimals Orientation 2
Ozimals Orientation 3
Ozimals Orientation 4

The food does NOT get updated itself, it only communicates to you the need to update your bunnies.   PLEASE NOTE!! You do NOT need to buy new food and water!  Once you update your bunnies, they will eat any version of food just fine.

Preparing to Update:

1. Get the updater. Available on Marketplace and these locations:

Ozimals Main Store
Ozimals Satellite Store (PG Location)
Magic of Oz
Lawst Paradise
Shamrock Market - All Things Ozimals (Official Ozimals Satellite Store)

2. Prepare your update area:

A.  Designate an "update area" someplace on the land you own.

B.  Rez your updater at the center of the update area.

C.  Pick up ALL third party scripted products (monitors, dispensers, servers, rings, etc.) and any other heavily scripted items in the area. These items can slow down or even prevent the update process from beginning or completing correctly. This is VERY IMPORTANT.

3. Update your bunnies:

    A.  Turn bunny movement off. Take a moment to record the bunny's ID if you do not already have it recorded.

    B.  Pick up your bunnies one at a time (do NOT pick up in a group!)
    C.  Rez up to 10 bunnies in your update area. The updater affects bunnies within a 9m radius (18 m circle with totem in center)

    D.  There will be a 30 second delay before the updater begins, (or longer for homesteads)  please be patient! :)
    E.  The bunnies will update one by one. A crate will appear over them and the process will be shown in hovertext above the box.

    F.  When all updates are completed, remove the updated bunnies from the update area, and put down the  next 10 un-updated bunnies.

    G.  Continue this process until your entire warren is updated.
    H.  After the update is completed,  RE-REZ ALL OF YOUR FOOD ITEMS so they will detect that the bunnies have been updated. If you use any dispenser or server system, you need to remove the food/water from those systems and rerezz them.
