Bunny Update 3.1

Hello, Ozimals friends!

Welcome to Bunny Update 3.1! Please read these notes carefully before you begin updating!

Welcome to Bunny Update 3.1!

Update 3.1 is a non-mandatory update. What this means is that your bunnies will continue eating for two weeks without being updated, though each food you have rezzed out will message you once a day to remind you to update. If your bunnies are not updated to 3.1, they will not be able to breed with updated or new bunnies OR produce holiday elite-capable nests. Remember, a bunny takes 72 hours to go from 0% hunger to 100% and hibernation, so you have two weeks plus three days to update... just don't forget!

If your bunnies do hibernate, all you need to do is give them food, wait 24 hours for them to come out of hibernation, and then use the 3.1 updater.

The Bunnybury Random Nest, Bunnybury Nest With Increased Chance of Recessives, and the Bunnybury Exclusive Rare Bunny Nest will be updated a week after the update, on Monday, October 6th, to then also include the chance of 3.1's new traits. (The Bunnybury Exclusive nest's shown traits are not changing.)

Hallows' Eve Pair Pack

We have two spectacular Halloween elites available from the shop, with a chance at a limited-edition eye! Please see our previous post for everything you need to know about the Nightmare Pair Pack and about Mask Potions!

Holiday kindling for Hallows' Eve!

Holiday elite bunnies are special rewards for active bunny breeders--if you've not been with us for previous holiday kindles, here is how they work!

The holiday kindling window begins tomorrow evening, Tuesday, September 30th, at midnight SLT, and closes at midnight SLT on Sunday night, November 2nd. The nest's hovertext will not tell you whether or not the nest is an elite; it must be kindled to find out.

When you kindle a nest created during the date range window, you will see a "No Elite" button in its menu--pressing this button makes the nest ignore its chance to produce a holiday elite, so use it carefully, if at all! Remember, if a nest has a chance to be a natural elite AND a chance to be a holiday elite, natural elite wins-and the "No Elite" button only turns off the holiday elite chance, not the natural elite chance, if one is present.

The genetics of potential holiday elite parents do not affect eligibility; both parents must be updated to the current version, the nest must have been created and kindled during the date window, and both parents must have zero hibernations.

To check the number of hibernations on any bunny: if the bunny is not yours, click the bunny and choose "Ozaria" from its menu. If the bunny is yours, click "Support" and then "Ozaria". This will bring up a web page showing the bunny's number of hibernations, so it's easy to check if a bunny you own or are considering buying is eligible to produce holiday elites!

New Genetic Traits in Starter Packs

As of this update, new starter packs purchased from Ozimals (Warren Packs, Pair Packs, and Pet Packs, from the Ozimals main store, the Satellite Store at Shamrock Market, or the SL Marketplace) have the chance of carrying a range of new genetic traits.

Retired Genetic Traits

We are retiring many older traits in this update. What "retired" means: existing bunnies with these traits will still have them, and can still pass them along to their children, but new starter bunnies from Ozimals will not have any chance of carrying the traits. As you can see from the Bunny Trait Percentages Chart on the Ozimals wiki, many long-retired traits are still going strong.

We've chosen to retire all of the remaining Bunny Games eyes and furs. This includes the following furs:

West: Winkie Yellow, Wogglebug Brown, Quadling Red, Poppy Orange, Gillikin Purple, Silver Slipper, Emerald City, and Munchkin Blue.
East: Munchkin Blue, Quadling Red, Wicked Witch, Wogglebug Brown, and Silver Slipper.
North: Wogglebug Brown, Emerald City, Munchkin Blue, Winkie Yellow, Quadling Red, Gillikin Purple, Poppy Orange, and Wicked Witch.
South: Silver Slipper, Gillikin Purple, Emerald City, Wogglebug Brown, Quadling Red, Munchkin Blue, Poppy Orange, Winkie Yellow, and Wicked Witch.
Magic of Oz: Emerald City, Poppy Orange, Wogglebug Brown, Winkie Yellow, Munchkin Blue, Gillikin Purple, Silver Slipper, and Quadling Red.

This includes the following eyes:

Gladiator, Glinda, Locasta, Marauder, Quester, Warrior, Woggle, and Zilonia.

Bond Breaking Potion

Available from both shops and the Marketplace, the new Bond Breaking Potion does what it says on the tin. Each package contains two potions, and each potion will release one bunny--version 3.1 or higher--from his or her assigned bond. (You can use both potions from the package to unbond both bunnies of a pair--or you can save one potion, and only unbond ONE bunny from a pair. The other bunny's bond will naturally expire after five days.)

****************IMPORTANT NOTES****************

Please check that you restore bonds, reset home near food and reprice if you had bunnies set for sale.

2.  If your update totem gets stuck on a bunny (after 5 minutes, it hasn't completed)  please TAKE THE CRATE into your inventory and delete the white bunny underneath.  Copy the crate prim description number.  File a support ticket ( ) and include that crate number for a replacement bunny.  Do not delete the crate until you receive your replacement bunny.

Once you pick up the crate and delete the white bunny, your update totem should move on to the next bunny in range.

The food does NOT get updated itself; it only communicates to you the need to update your bunnies. PLEASE NOTE!! You do NOT need to buy new food!  Once you update your bunnies, they will eat any recent version of food just fine.

2. Prepare your update area:
A.  Designate an "update area" someplace on the land you own.
B.  Rez your updater at the center of the update area.

C. It is important to only rez ONE updater!D.  Pick up ALL third party scripted products (monitors, dispensers, servers, rings, etc.) and any other heavily scripted items in the area. These items can slow down or even prevent the update process from beginning or completing correctly. This is VERY IMPORTANT.

3. Update your bunnies:
    A.  Turn bunny movement off. Take a moment to record the bunny's ID if you do not already have it recorded.
    B.  Pick up your bunnies one at a time (do NOT pick up in a group!)
    C.  Rez up to 10 bunnies in your update area. The updater affects bunnies within a 9m radius (18 m circle with totem in center)
    D.  There will be a short delay before the updater begins; please be patient! :)
    E.  The bunnies will update one by one. A crate will appear over them and the process will be shown in hovertext above the box.
    F.  When all updates are completed, remove the updated bunnies from the update area, and put down the  next 10 un-updated bunnies.
    G.  Continue this process until your entire warren is updated.
    H.  After the update is completed,  RE-REZ ALL YOUR FOOD so it will detect that the bunnies have been updated. If you use any dispenser or server system, you need to remove the food from those systems and rerezz them.

Happy Kindling and Much <3

Nightmare Pair Pack and Hallows' Eve Mask Potions!

Hello, Ozimals friends!

Many residents of the land of Oz pick their Halloween costumes from the colorful past of Oz itself! Every year, two of the most popular characters from Oz history making Halloween appearances are Jack Pumpkinhead and Scraps, the Patchwork Girl.

The Ozimals Nightmare Pair Pack!

To celebrate Hallows' Eve along with the people of Oz, we're introducing two new elite bunnies: Pumpkin Jack 2014 and Patchwork Girl 2014, available exclusively from Ozimals in the Nightmare Pair Pack!

What to know:

Each pack is a male/female pair; all Pumpkin Jack elites are male, while all Patchwork Girl elites are female.

Both nests have unlocked ears and shades. What this means is that the bunnies born from them can have any currently available ear type and shade, instead of the limited group available in standard "starter" nests.

These bunnies also have the chance to produce a limited-edition eye! It will only be available from these two elites, so when the pack is removed from sale, the eye will be retired.

Pumpkin Jack and Patchwork Girl are version 3.1, and have the same chance at new 3.1 genetic traits as other starters. They will only be available from this pack, and it will only be sold through November 2, 2014.

The pack also includes one Level 2 Standard Food AND a set of Hallows' Eve Mask potions, which you can use on ANY version 3.1 bunny. Each Mask Potion has ten charges, so you can apply jack-o-lantern heads or creepy patchwork faces to any ten bunnies you please--just rez the potion on or near the bunny and follow the menu prompts! Masks can be removed by using the "Unmask" button in the "Config" menu when you click your bunny. It's important to note that masks will NOT persist through updates; if you want it to stay Halloween year-round, you'll have to re-apply masks each time you update your bunnies.

Muahaha! Bunny Update 3.1 Shambles Closer!

Hello, Ozimals friends!

The days are getting shorter--which means the nights are getting longer, darker, and spookier, and that Hallows' Eve is on its way! At the end of September, we'll have a big update for the bunnies to get ready for the holiday, so here's some information to help YOU get ready, too.

Ominous swarms of bats have been flapping blackly down from the Witch's Castle, informing us that Bunny Update 3.1 is scheduled for Monday, September 29th. This will be a non-mandatory update, which means you'll have two weeks before un-updated bunnies stop eating--but you'll want to update quickly, because there are lots of treats coming your way.

While carving pumpkins into terrifying toothy grins, we'll have spooky holiday elites kindling all through October, as well as a ghoulish pair pack of Hallows' Eve elites with a chance at a limited edition eye and including some creepy new tricks to play on your bunnies!

Thanks to arcane contracts signed on crumbling parchments at midnight, this update will introduce a chance of new furs and eyes in starter nests (including the pair pack), though don't give up on your current bunnies: not all of the 3.0 genetic traits have appeared quite yet!

To make it easier for new genetic traits to appear, mysterious lights seen bobbing through the forest at night are coming to retire the biggest batch of older furs and eyes EVER in 3.1. We'll announce the list when the update is released.

At the request of bunny owners--and of sentient globs of slime lurking in nearby dimensions much more wrong than our own--we are adding a Bunny Bond Breaking potion; sometimes you just don't want to wait!

Otherworldly signs and portents tell us that there will be more surprises after the update, too, so make sure you stay close instead of wandering off alone--we'll have more news soon!

Much <3 and big bags of candy,
Ozimals Team
