Ozimals Holiday Hours

Hello, Ozimals friends!

Magic of Oz - December 2015

We hope you are enjoying the holiday season this year, and that Santa and/or the Gacha Fairy fills your stocking with everything you wish for. Our staff will be taking holidays on the following dates:

December 21 - 27
December 31 & January 1

This means that CSRs will not be inworld for their shifts, and that tickets will take some extra time to be answered. If you are having difficulties with your bunnies or Pufflings, we encourage you to ask the inworld group chats. Many (most!) problems--especially of the Bunny Won't Eat variety--can be solved without us, and the chats are full of kind pet owners who have been in almost any imaginable situation and know the way back out! If you do need to file a ticket, though, rest assured that we'll reply as soon as we can.

Much <3 and Happy Holidays!

Exclusive Natural Graffa bunny for RFL's Christmas Expo!

Hello, Ozimals friends!

A Frozen Christmas, the 2015 Second Life Christmas Expo, benefiting Relay For Life of Second Life, opens to the public at 8 am SLT on Thursday, December 3rd, and closes at 8 pm SLT on Monday, December 14th. Ozimals is located on the Frozen region--come visit us for the holidays, and for a good cause!

For RFL this year, Ozimals presents an exclusive limited edition bunny, guaranteed to carry a special fur, Natural Graffa, and special eye, Sepia, that you cannot get anywhere else! These genetic traits will not be available after this event.

Each pack contains a standard Level 2 food and one Natural Graffa nest. The nests have unlocked ears and shades, which means that the bunnies they produce can have any currently available ear type and shade, rather than the limited pool available to most starter nests. Each nest is guaranteed to carry the Sepia eye and the Natural Graffa fur, and can pass them to the bunnies' offspring.

Best of all, 100% of the sales of these nests goes to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life. Ozimals has been involved with RFL throughout our history, and we're excited to offer this exclusive bunny as our donation for the Christmas Expo.

Ozimals Bunny Update 3.8!

Hello, Ozimals friends!

Welcome to Bunny Update 3.8! Please read these notes carefully before you begin updating!

Ozimals Bunny Update 3.8

Update 3.8 is a non-mandatory update. What this means is that your bunnies will continue eating for two weeks without being updated, though each food you have rezzed out will message you once a day to remind you to update. If your bunnies are not updated to 3.8, they will not be able to breed with updated or new bunnies. Remember, a bunny takes 72 hours to go from 0% hunger to 100% and hibernation, so you have two weeks plus three days to update... just don't forget!

If your bunnies do hibernate, all you need to do is give them food, wait 24 hours for them to come out of hibernation, and then use the 3.8 updater.

All three types of nests in the Bunnybury vendor will be updated to 3.8 on update day. The Bunnybury Exclusive Rare Nest is not changing in this update.

Ozimals 2015 Wicked Christmas Bunny Gacha!

There is MUCH more information about the gacha machines and their bunnies in the Wicked Christmas Bunny Gacha post. (Pictures, too!) Here, however, is the essential information:

Gacha machines are set up at The Ozimals Bunny main store and at The Ozimals satellite store @ Shamrock Market. There are two machines at each location: one that gives only female bunnies, and one that gives only male bunnies. The machines will remain available to play until New Year's Day, January 1st, 2016--after that, these elite bunnies and their limited-edition genetics will not be available again.

As always, we hope you'll enjoy celebrating the winter holidays with your special gacha bunnies, and that you'll post pictures of new discoveries to the Ozimals Flickr group!

Relay For Life!

A Frozen Christmas, the 2015 Second Life Christmas Expo, benefiting Relay For Life of Second Life, opens to the public on Thursday, December 3rd, and closes on Monday, December 14th. We'll be posting about it--and about our special item, only available at the Expo--on Thursday, but wanted to remind you that this huge event is coming right up!

Winter Holiday Dance!

Ozimals will be hosting a dance to celebrate the winter holidays with dancing, treats, and merriment. We'll be posting more information and the date very soon, so watch the blog and inworld group notices!

****************IMPORTANT NOTES****************

1. THE UPDATE PROCESS WILL:

REQUIRE 22 PRIMS FREE ON LAND
    BREAK BONDS
    RESET PRICING AND
    RESET HOME POSITION!

Please check that you restore bonds, reset home near food and reprice if you had bunnies set for sale.

2.  If your update totem gets stuck on a bunny (after 5 minutes, it hasn't completed)  please TAKE THE CRATE into your inventory and delete the white bunny underneath.  Copy the crate prim description number.  File a support ticket ( http://support.ozimals.com ) and include that crate number for a replacement bunny.  Do not delete the crate until you receive your replacement bunny.

Once you pick up the crate and delete the white bunny, your update totem should move on to the next bunny in range.

*****BUNNY FOOD, THE UPDATE, AND YOU!*****

The food does NOT get updated itself; it only communicates to you the need to update your bunnies. PLEASE NOTE!! You do NOT need to buy new food!  Once you update your bunnies, they will eat any recent version of food just fine.

FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS  FOR A SMOOTH UPDATE PROCESS!

2. Prepare your update area:

A.  Designate an "update area" someplace on the land you own.
B.  Rez your updater at the center of the update area.

C. It is important to only rez ONE updater!
D.  Pick up ALL third party scripted products (monitors, dispensers, servers, rings, etc.) and any other heavily scripted items in the area. These items can slow down or even prevent the update process from beginning or completing correctly. This is VERY IMPORTANT.

3. Update your bunnies:
    A.  Turn bunny movement off. Take a moment to record the bunny's ID if you do not already have it recorded.
    B.  Pick up your bunnies one at a time (do NOT pick up in a group!)
    C.  Rez up to 10 bunnies in your update area. The updater affects bunnies within a 9m radius (18 m circle with totem in center)
    D.  There will be a short delay before the updater begins; please be patient! :)
    E.  The bunnies will update one by one. A crate will appear over them and the process will be shown in hovertext above the box.
    F.  When all updates are completed, remove the updated bunnies from the update area, and put down the  next 10 un-updated bunnies.
    G.  Continue this process until your entire warren is updated.
    H.  After the update is completed,  RE-REZ ALL YOUR FOOD so it will detect that the bunnies have been updated. If you use any dispenser or server system, you need to remove the food from those systems and rerezz them.

Ozimals 2015 Wicked Christmas Bunny Gacha

Hello, Ozimals friends!

The Marvelous Land of Oz has many of the same traditions for the holidays that we do. L. Frank Baum, famous to us as the Royal Historian of Oz, took time out from chronicling events in the Land of Oz to research and write The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus in 1902, and perhaps it was his friendship with Mr. Claus that resulted in Santa being one of the guests at Ozma's grand birthday party, discussed in The Road to Oz.

Santa Claus brings gifts to the good children of Oz, and just as in our world, they eagerly race to unwrap them on Christmas morning. There are darker aspects to Christmas in Oz, though, too, and scary consequences for the not-so-good children! Some traditions in our world echo this fate for those who are Naughty, and we've chosen to recognize both the Nice and the Naughty...

With the release of the 3.8 bunny update, we are continuing our tradition of a set of winter holiday bunnies available from gacha machines. Gachas, if you're curious, are like gumball machines: you pay a low price--L$50--and receive a random prize, available only for a limited time through these machines!

Each machine contains seven elite bunnies: six common bunnies and one rare bunny. The male and female rares are different, but the common bunnies are available as both males and females.

All of the bunnies have unlocked ears and shades, meaning that these nests can produce any currently available shade or ear type, instead of the more limited options available to standard starter nests.

Each one of the six common styles has a chance of carrying a limited edition eye, specific to that style of bunny. The two rares are guaranteed to carry a limited edition eye--there are two eyes, specific to the male rare and the female rare. All of these eyes can be passed to the bunnies' descendants, but will not be available otherwise.

Good luck!
